In the beginning, the Eastside Predators Youth Sports was envisioned by two members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated, which are Tony E Blue and Terrance McCrary, who have been actively coaching youth in the Osborn Community for over 29 years. Between the both of us, we have coached over a 1000 youth in Detroit through various youth sports teams. What just started off as just a community service project for these two back in 1991 has finally grown to become a much-needed youth organization in the Osborn Community.

The Eastside Predators Youth Sports (EPYS) was founded on August 2, 2016 with the primary focus of this organization is to provide a structured youth sports program that benefits youth in the Osborn Community. 

With the merger, we will have Four New Programs implemented in 2021.

1) Promise Child Computer Educational Classes – Despite this targeted community residents in general do not have the technical skills needed to acquire the jobs that are available, and their income is lower than 94.1% of other U.S. neighborhoods, the outlook can be changed. This program plans on starting with the youth in this community, to give them the same opportunity as the suburban youths. The main objective is to level the playing field by providing technological assistance to the youth in this community, so that they will be able to compete for college scholarships and grants and job opportunities to provide for their families.

2) Mentorship Mondays - The outcome we wish to see from this program is to open the line of communication between the youth where they feel comfortable enough to open-up. With them doing this it gives us a chance to listen to them,  acknowledge their situation, and try to provide various solutions to their situations. Also, we are hoping that seeing various African American business owners would encourage the youth in our program to dream, make that dreams become reality. 

3) Expansion of the Sports and Dance Programs - Develop, expand, and maintain a successful structured youth sports and dance programs in the Osborn Community for boys and girls, ages 5-14. With the merger we plan on tripling the amount of youth involved in our program by the end of 2021.

4) Building Better Men- This focal point of this program is develop a open line of communication with the boys, talk with them of importance of taking responsibility if you have children, the consequences that comes with not being a father to your child and the effects it has on your child and their mother.
